15 YOUNG BALLERS TOP THE JR. NBA NORTH LUZON REGIONAL SELECTION CAMP


 Eight boys and seven girls from Baguio, Benguet, Dagupan, Pangasinan, Ilocos, Manila, Bukidnon, Davao and Puerto Princesa will travel to Metro Manila after outclassing 1,120 campers during the North Luzon Regional Selection Camp of the Jr. NBA Philippines 2018 presented by Alaska at Benguet State University on March 17-18.

The top eight boys and seven girls who will advance to the National Training Camp in Manila are: (L - R Back) Czarlo Lorenzo Salvador, Carl Emmanuel Valesquez, Rodge Aldrich Balbao, Alejandro Melecio III, Alvin Collado Jr., Adrian Tan, Asher Vidal, Javier Luis Jugo (L - R Front) Jhulliana Francesca Pagteilan, Silcia Lee Fuscalbo, Aretha Belgira, Sarah Abigail Sacayanan, Crisciona Ann Bagasani, Tiffany Jolie Lacsamana, Christine Nicole Venterez

Javier Luis R. Jugo, 13, of La Salle Green Hills; Czarlo Lorenzo V. Salvador, 12, of Ateneo de Davao University; Adrian Chu Tan, 13, of Cherished Moments School; Asher M. Vidal, 13, of Wonderland School; Rodge Aldrich Balbao, 13, and Alejandro A. Melecio III, 13, of Bukidnon Faith Christian School; and Alvin T. Collado Jr., 13, and Carl Emmanuel Velasquez, 14, Berkeley School will represent North Luzon in the boys division, while Crisciona Ann Bagasani, 12, of Immaculate Concepcion Academy; Aretha Belgira, 12, of Saint Joseph College Olongapo City; Tiffany Jolie Lacsamana, 12, of Palawan State University Laboratory Elementary School; Jhulliana Francesca Pagteilan, 12, of San Jose School of La Trinidad; Sarah Abigail Sacayanan, 13, of Saint Louis School Center - High School Department; and Silcia Lee Fuscalbo, 14, and Christine Nicole Venterez, 12, of Baguio City National High School will comprise the girls division.  In addition to their all-around basketball skills, the players exemplified the Jr. NBA core S.T.A.R. values of Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a positive Attitude and Respect throughout the camp.

All roads will lead to Don Bosco Technical Institute in Makati, Metro Manila, which will host the final Jr. NBA Regional Selection Camp on April 21-22 and the National Training Camp (NTC) on May 18-20.  The top-performing athletes from the Regional Selection Camps in Bacolod, Benguet, Butuan, and Metro Manila will vie for 16 Jr. NBA Philippines All-Star slots that will reward them with an overseas NBA experience trip with fellow Jr. NBA All-Stars from Southeast Asia later in the year. 

Boys and girls aged 10-14 can still register to the free youth basketball program at www.jrnba.asia/philippines, where the program terms and conditions can be found.

“The kids here are very special as reflected in their passion and commitment to the game,” said Jr. NBA Coach Carlos Barroca.  “We hope these boys and girls continue working on their craft and look forward to their growth as individuals on and off the court.”
